Read the Punx is a collection of mini-chapbooks or segmented stories that have been written to albums (punk rock or otherwise).
Each track/story has been made to fit the theme, timbre or lyrics of corresponding song.
Is this a shameless rip off of someone else's story telling? Probably. But does it offer a different take on tunes that we all dig? Hopefully.
But why?
I want to write books that feel like what it's like to listen to a punk album. I want to have that same energy and flow that I hear in the albums I love. The best way to figure out how to do that, I figure, is to write out some of my favorite albums in story collection forms. So this is practice.
Are they all going to be punk albums?
No. But a lot of them are.
